Movie Night 2025 – HWR – Hangout with Roselyn

As part of its anniversary celebrations, Hangout with Roselyn (HWR) hosted an exciting Movie Night at Silverbird Cinemas, Accra Mall, in July 2025. The event brought together a lively mix of over 84 participants alongside 5 dedicated HWR crew members, creating a relaxed yet purposeful environment where fun met inspiration.

The goal of this gathering was not just entertainment but also to draw meaningful lessons from storytelling—reminding participants that even in leisure, there are valuable takeaways that can shape personal growth, leadership, and resilience.

Purpose:

The Movie Night was designed to:
• Celebrate the anniversary of Hangout with Roselyn with the growing community.
• Provide a fun and social bonding experience for participants and mentees.
• Encourage participants to reflect on real-life lessons embedded in stories and movies.
• Strengthen the sense of community and mentorship in a relaxed setting.

Highlights:

The highlight of the night was the screening of “Superman 2025,” directed by James Gunn and starring David Corenswet as Superman.

While the night was filled with popcorn, fresh juice and excitement, the most memorable moments came during the post-movie reflections. Mentees and Participants, including Co-Founder Roselyn Fosuah Adjei, shared insightful lessons drawn from the movie’s themes:

1. Resilience and Responsibility – Superman’s journey reminded participants that true strength is not just physical power but the courage to keep standing firm despite setbacks and the responsibility to use one’s gifts for the greater good.
2. Identity and Purpose – The film emphasized embracing who you truly are, no matter the odds. This resonated deeply with mentees navigating their careers and personal journeys.
3. Humility in Leadership – Even with immense power, Superman’s humility and service-oriented mindset reinforced Roselyn’s consistent message: that greatness lies in serving others and staying grounded.
